Ashley Avrea Cathey is the founder and principal of the renowned Dallas-based interior design and decoration studio, Avrea and Company. Establishing her namesake firm in the early 2000s, Ashley brings over twenty-five years of experience in the design industry, establishing herself as a leader in Texas design, as well making her name on the national stage, designing impressive residences across the country.
Ashley embraces a uniquely American style, blending modern sensibilities with everyday practicality. She draws inspiration from global antiquities and historical influences, seamlessly integrating them with contemporary design elements to define her own distinctive visual language. Her designs seamlessly blend contemporary and traditional elements, resulting in spaces that feel both timeless and relevant. With a focus on warmth, her aesthetic incorporates bold patterns, intricate textiles, and playful colors in unexpectedly beautiful ways.
Ashley’s work has been featured in leading design publications including Architectural Digest, Veranda, Aspire Design and Home, and Frederic, among many others. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Texas and later pursued postgraduate studies at The New York School of Interior Design.
